Toronto firm PKF Hill plans to merge with
Grant Thornton Canada on 1 October. All 80 PKF Hill staff will
cross over to Grant Thornton, which will now have four offices in
Toronto.

PKF Hill specialises in assurance, tax and
advisory.

Grant Thornton regional managing partner Anita
Ferrari said the merger expands Grant Thornton’s footprint in
Ontario and strengthens service capabilities in the region.

PKF Hill managing partner Peter Fullerton said
the merger will enable the firm to access resources and expertise
nationally and globally.

Grant Thornton is the fifth largest accounting
firm in Canada with revenue of C$450 million ($435 million) in the
year to 30 December 2009, according to the latest International
Accounting Bulletin
Canada survey.

PKF North America had fee income of C$127 in
the same period and was the 10th largest firm in
Canada.
