On June 1st this year, BOKS International celebrates its 5th Anniversary. Founded by Top 40 accountancy firm TC Group, BOKS was formed to support the growth and development of its members while offering fast and effective access to quality-assured professional service firms around the world.
BOKS started life by building its presence in Europe, focusing primarily on member growth in the accountancy sector. Within six months, the alliance had gained more than 20 members. In 2018, BOKS expanded beyond Europe, acquiring its first members in North America, Asia, the Middle East, and in the legal sector while also hosting its Inaugural Global Conference in London.
By 2019, BOKS had gained representatives in several South American countries and hosted two more conferences – its first European event, which took place in Cyprus, and the second Global Conference in Kuala Lumpur. In 2020, despite the significant challenges posed by the onset of the global pandemic, BOKS continued to move forward by gaining new members and switching to online meetings and conferences.
2021 was an important year for the alliance. BOKS appointed ex-Allinial Global CEO and President Terry Snyder as Global Marketing Adviser, signed up two Top 50 accountancy firms in the USA, and was nominated in the Rising Star category at the prestigious Digital Accountancy Forum and Awards while also entering the IAB Top 20 for the first time.
On BOKS exceptional growth and development, Alliance Director, Richard Sergeant, says, “It results really from the backing of some significant firms from a very early stage and the commitment of those who join to be part of something that strengthens their client service proposition. BOKS has a formula that works for those professional service firms that need the scope and quality of delivery wherever their clients’ business interests lie.”
BOKS is committed to adapting to meet the broad industry challenges to position itself in the most competitive way possible. Terry Snyder comments: “While our industry continues to evolve as firms are confronted with multiple complex changes, the BOKS leadership team builds its organisation to handle today’s modern professional service firm. They have created a flexible model to adapt quickly to the changing needs of its members and, more importantly, members’ clients. It’s exciting to be part of such a broad thinking team that listen and responds to its membership and environment.”
In March this year, BOKS successfully returned to hosting in-person events with its 2nd European conference in Amsterdam and looks forward to meeting members again at the third global conference scheduled in Toronto later this year. Throughout 2022, BOKS will continue to expand its membership into key locations and strengthen its representation in the accounting and legal sectors.
