WilliamsMarston, a provider of accounting, tax, valuation, and transaction advisory services, has appointed Sanjay Ramaswamy as the new CEO, effective immediately.

He held the position of chief operating officer (COO) since joining the firm in 2024.

Ramaswamy’s previous roles include at EY, AlixPartners, Johnson & Johnson, and McKinsey & Company. He also holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Pennsylvania State University.

Ramaswamy said: “We will continue to uphold WM’s reputation for expertise, integrity and outstanding client service. Furthermore, we will continue to provide an environment that fosters exceptional career opportunities for our people which we believe translates to outstanding value for our clients.”

The firm’s co-founders and former co-CEOs, Landen Williams and Jon Marston, will now serve as co-chairmen.

In their new roles, they will continue to be involved in the strategic direction of WilliamsMarston, focusing on expanding client relationships, supporting strategic execution, and mentoring emerging leaders within the company.

Williams said: “This transition reflects our unwavering commitment to the long-term success of WilliamsMarston.

“We believe the firm is well positioned for the future and these role changes will free Jon and me from the day-to-day matters while aligning our skills and talents with those strategic responsibilities that will most effectively drive WM’s continued expansion.”

This leadership transition comes on the heels of another appointment at WilliamsMarston.

In March 2025, the firm appointed Guy Wanger as the new Advisory Practice West Region Leader.

Since its founding in 2014, WilliamsMarston has grown to employ more than 200 professionals and has established offices in US cities including Boston, New York, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Tucson, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

The firm advises a range of clients, from public and private equity-backed companies to pre-IPO entities, on various aspects of growth and transformation such as mergers, corporate tax, and restructuring, among others.
