She had previously served as a tax director at the Scottish law firm Gillespie Macandrew.

She is also a Scotland Branch Committee Member and Treasurer for STEP Scotland (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).

Macpherson-Fletcher said: “I am excited to be working with a diverse range of businesses and a dynamic, client focused team of experts at RSM. I particularly love working closely with families, getting to know them, earning their trust, and helping them achieve their future planning goals.

“Last year’s budget increased the need to support those with significant land and estates who want to understand how recent changes might impact their businesses, property and inheritance planning, so I’m expecting to be very busy.”

RSM UK private client services head Gary Heynes said: “I am delighted that Lisa is now part of our national private client team. RSM’s mid-market focus means we predominantly advise private businesses and their owners, and the Autumn budget has given rise to a significant increase in enquiries around succession and inheritance tax planning, particularly from family business owners and those in the farming sector.

“Lisa’s experience in estate and succession planning arrives at just the right time and will be invaluable for the current demand for advice in these areas.”

In December 2024, RSM UK appointed James Zuurbier as a deal services director.

Zuurbier, who has 15 years of industry experience, previously worked at a Big Four firm where he led high-profile deals in sectors such as lending, banking, insurance, and wealth and asset management.
