Sustainability took centre stage at the three-day PrimeGlobal Business Leadership Forum in Brighton, which attracted over 180 accountants and business advisors to a city committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
With the business of event planning changing, PrimeGlobal now considers each of its destinations with sustainability in mind. Known as the ’10-minute city,’ Brighton offers delegates everything they need within a ten-minute walk, minimising their carbon footprint.
The Forum featured its inaugural Community of Practice on Sustainability, a day-long workshop with its aim of creating a ‘PrimeGlobal Sustainability Charter,’ a joint plan of action for PrimeGlobal members. Another highlight on the agenda was the presentation “Disruptors: The Accountancy Profession Needs You” by Mark de Lat of Eshuis Accountants en Adviseurs and Paul Thompson of the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs, which highlighted trends, regulations and standards in sustainability reporting and assurance.
During the conference, PrimeGlobal announced its new partnership with Sumthing, an organisation dedicated to investing in nature-positive initiatives. Through this collaboration, PrimeGlobal is making tangible contributions to nature restoration projects including plastic collection in Cambodia and planting mangrove trees in Kenya. With every event hosted, PrimeGlobal is committed to making a positive impact on the planet.
