KPMG in Spain hired a team of 70 consultants from fellow big four firm EY who were working on advisory projects for listed energy company Gas Natural, financial newspaper Expansion first reported.
The EY consultants are led by partners Luis Buzzi and Leandro Mazón, whose firm won the audit contract of Gas Natural. Due to the EU Audit market reform, EY wouldn’t be allowed to be the statutory auditor and consultant of the company at the same time. Therefore, as Expansion reported, KPMG will integrate the 70-strong team of consultants within its management consulting business line, while EY will become Gas Natural’s new auditor, replacing PwC.
