IFAC launched a new online resource providing game-changing access to the international standards that support the accountancy profession. Wanted to share, as this should be an incredibly valuable resource for your readers and practicing accountants.
See some high-level information and details on eIS below. Let me know if you’re interested in learning more about the tool and its features – as always, I’d be happy to connect you with the IFAC team.
- eIS (short for e-International Standards) allows professional accountants easier access to the standards developed by the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), and the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB).
- These standards – which guide professional accountants on how to operate on behalf of the public interest – are now accessible to anyone, on any digital platform, from anywhere. This increases the standards functionality and accessibility, and it also promotes transparency in their adoption.
According to Kevin Dancey, CEO of IFAC, “eIS is an important next step in IFAC’s work leading the profession through the digital era. Rooted in our commitment to the public interest, this platform responds to stakeholder needs by making international standards and their accompanying resources accessible and easy to use.”
