Chartered accountancy and tax advisory firm HaysMac has appointed Per-Olof Ahlstrom as the acting head of Risk Assurance and Advisory Services (RAAS).
Ahlstrom, who has more than 25 years of experience in industry and professional services, is joining HaysMac after a decade at PwC UK.
Ahlstrom said: “I am hugely excited at this opportunity to be part of HaysMac’s growth story, helping HaysMac strengthen its risk advisory offering at a time when clients demand more value-adding risk advice, assurance and support to navigate an ever more complex and challenging risk landscape.”
Ahlstrom’s appointment aligns with HaysMac’s strategic focus on sectors such as equity capital markets, hospitality, media, marketing and advertising, technology, fintech, and retail and ecommerce.
HaysMac managing partner Natasha Frangos said: “We are thrilled to welcome Per-Olof to the HaysMac team. His unparalleled experience and strategic insight into the ever-evolving risk landscape will be a game-changer for our clients.
“As organisations face increasingly complex challenges — from AI and digital transformation to geopolitical uncertainty — Per-Olof’s leadership will empower us to deliver cutting-edge, value-driven risk advisory services. This is an exciting new chapter in HaysMac’s journey, and with Per-Olof on board, we’re more equipped than ever to help our clients navigate the future with confidence.”
The announcement follows a recent leadership change within the firm’s Social Purpose sector group. From 1 April 2025, Steve Harper, Partner at HaysMac, is leading the Social Purpose team.
In addition, there has been a change in leadership within the education team. Tracey Young has handed over her responsibilities to Jane Askew, who has been a part of the firm since 2008.
Askew, who was promoted to Partner in 2023, is recognised as an expert in the education sector.
Based in London, HaysMac offers a suite of professional services, including audit and assurance, taxation, outsourcing, business advisory, and corporate finance.
