Global professional services network Forvis Mazars is accelerating progress to net zero by bringing their target date forward by five years.

Forvis Mazars specialises in audit, accounting and consulting, employing more than 40,000 professionals in more than 100 countries.

In the 2024 UK Sustainability Report, Forvis Mazars highlighted its commitment to building sustainably for the future.

The company now plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2045 instead of the earlier target of 2050, backed by more accurate emissions data and establishing a clearly defined, science-based reduction plan.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated the group’s emissions targets.

In order to reduce its environmental impact, Forvis Mazars seeks to transform into a low-energy business by decreasing its business travel and commuting emissions and employing smart energy management measures.

Other sustainable measures include prioritising circular economy principles of rethink, reduce, re-use, recover and recycle; have a sustainable supply chain; and reduce dependence on paper via digitalisation.

By FY25, the company plans to ensure that all UK offices will be on 100% certified renewable electricity tariffs and achieve a 75% printing reduction against an FY19 baseline.

Forvis Mazars UK CEO James Gilbey said: “At Forvis Mazars, we take pride in our ability to evolve as we continuously prepare for what’s next. Our approach to sustainability reflects our forward-looking approach, aiming to create lasting positive change, not just for our people and clients, but for society as a whole.

“Over the past year, we have made meaningful strides in pursuit of this vision and this is something we remain committed to as we continue to grow our business.”

Forvis Mazars in the UK spans 14 offices throughout the nation with more than 3,300 professionals and 170 partners.
