Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has bolstered its leadership team with the addition of three new partners across its audit and tax services.

Gordon Whiley has been appointed as an audit partner and will be operating from BDO’s London office.

With expertise in large publicly listed companies within the natural resources and energy sector, Gordon joins from his previous role at Deloitte.

In the Financial Services audit team, David Reeves joins as a partner, bringing more than two decades of experience to BDO.

Reeves has expertise in assisting businesses across the asset management sector. He previously worked for EY and will be stationed at BDO’s Edinburgh office.

The financial services tax team will add Chi Ha as a new partner. Chi Ha’s tax experience will contribute to the delivery of tax advisory services, including fund structuring and European investor tax reporting, to traditional and alternative asset managers.

Chi joins BDO from PwC and will also be based in the London office.

BDO culture and purpose people head Anna Draper said: “We pride ourselves on delivering a high quality, partner-led service and these appointments reflect an ongoing commitment to offer a diverse range of services and resources to the businesses we serve.

“Gordon, David and Chi all bring a wealth of experience and sector expertise to the firm and will be great additions to their respective teams at BDO.”

In September 2024, BDO appointed more than 600 new trainees to its UK offices. The new recruits join the firm’s existing workforce of 8,000 across audit, tax, and advisory practices, with more than half based outside of London.

The trainees included university graduates, school leaver apprentices, and students undertaking a 12-month industrial placement.
