Advisory, tax and assurance firm Baker Tilly has appointed Chakib Zaari as its new regional chair for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
In this role, Zaari will also serve on the Baker Tilly International Board, effective immediately.
Zaari said: “I am honoured to take up this Regional Chair role at such an important time for our region and the Baker Tilly network. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the world for the benefit of our clients and people in the region.”
Zaari is the founder of Baker Tilly in Morocco and led the firm’s expansion and integration into the Baker Tilly network.
Under his leadership, the Moroccan arm diversified its practices to include sectors such as investment banking, corporate social responsibility, and digital transformation.
Baker Tilly International CEO Francesca Lagerberg said: “In a fast-growing market such as MEA the network needs a dynamic Regional Chair who can take us to the next stage of delivering our strategy locally.”
