Azets Wealth Management has reached an agreement to acquire Laurus Associates, a move that will bolster its financial planning services and expertise.  

The acquisition, for which contracts have been already exchanged, is expected to be completed by the end of January 2025. 

Laurus Associates, established in 2002 by Karen Barwick and Colin Dawson, provides personal and corporate advice on investments, pensions, and life assurance.  

The firm also offers specialised services, including trust planning, auto-enrolment, investment portfolios, pension property purchase, and employee benefits advice.

This acquisition marks another growth step for Azets Wealth Management, which has a presence across the UK with hubs in the North East and Scotland.  

It follows closely on the heels of Azets’ recent acquisition of Milne Craig, a wealth management and chartered accountancy firm based in Glasgow. 

In August 2024, Azets further diversified its portfolio by securing a position as a supplier on YPO’s framework for internal audit, assurance, and counter fraud investigation services.  

This appointment has extended Azets’ internal audit and assurance services to the public sector, marking its ongoing expansion and diversification.
