Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal’s (A&M) Global Transaction Advisory Group (Global TAG) has appointed managing directors Sébastien Catteau in Munich, Germany  and Nigel Hinchliffe in Manchester, England.

The move comes as the firm intends to strengthen its transaction advisory services and sector expertise in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Sébastien Catteau, who brings more than 15 years of experience from Deloitte’s transaction advisory team in Munich, and a recent directorship at EOS Partner, is set to strengthen Global TAG’s EMEA offering.

His expertise in buy-and sell-side financial due diligence (FDD) across various sectors will guide clients through cross-border complexities and optimise exit-readiness strategies using data analytics and digitalisation.

Joining the team alongside Catteau is Senior Director Ilya Zvyagintsev, who brings extensive FDD and IPO assistance experience from Germany, Russia, Syria, and Turkey.

Nigel Hinchliffe, with 20 years of M&A experience, led KPMG’s Manchester transaction advisory team and co-led its UK betting and gaming practice. He has expertise in buy-and-sell side FDD and has advised several European B2C mergers in recent years.

In the new role, Hinchliffe will enhance betting and gaming proposition of A&M across EMEA.

Director Connor Sheridan-Ross, a former KPMG employee with a decade of buy-and-sell-side experience, will work with Hinchliffe to complement the recent hire of managing director Adam Rivers.

Together, they are part of A&M’s initiative to offer a full suite of due diligence services for the global betting and gaming sector.

Hinchliffe said: “A&M’s global network of industry experts alongside Global TAG’s proven FDD capabilities are the perfect platform for our full-suite betting and gaming practice.

Recently, A&M has expanded its tax practice to Spain and appointed two managing directors.
