Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has further bolstered its leadership team in the UK by appointing Emma Hosking-Williams and Stuart Macdougall as new partners.  

Hosking-Williams joins BDO as a partner in the Private Capital tax team while Macdougall has been appointed as an audit partner with a special focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). 

Hosking-Williams joins BDO from EY and will be based in the firm’s London office. 

She specialises in providing tailored advice to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, trust and corporate service providers, and large multinational corporations. 

Her focus is on addressing complex tax issues and offering solutions that are aligned with the specific needs of her clients.  

Macdougall has more than 20 years of experience working with entrepreneurs, private equity-backed companies, and large international groups.

He specialises in integrating sustainability and ESG considerations into business practices.  

Prior to joining BDO, Macdougall worked at Saffery, where he led the Entrepreneur National Practice Group and contributed to the development of the Sustainability Service line.  

He also served as Co-Chair of Nexia’s Global ESG group. Stuart will be based in BDO’s Glasgow office.

Earlier in November 2024, BDO announced the promotion of more than 2,440 staff members.  

The audit practice saw more than 1,300 promotions, the tax team had over 340 promotions, the deals division had 165 new promotions, while the consulting, risk and outsourcing teams saw 420. 

BDO, which offers tax, audit and assurance, and a range of advisory services, operates in 18 offices across the country, employing 8,000 people.
