INPACT Global recently held its Latin America Members Meeting in the vibrant and historic country of Guatemala, hosted by Mibzar Castañon CPA, our esteemed member firm in Guatemala. The meeting took place on the 29th and 30th of August, bringing together 15 delegates from across the region, including representatives from Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru.
Key Highlights of the Meeting
The two-day event was packed with insightful discussions and networking opportunities:
- Welcome and Presentation on Guatemala: The meeting kicked off with a brief yet informative presentation about Guatemala, setting the stage for the event and providing valuable context for the visiting delegates.
- INPACT Strategy and Activities Update: Delegates received an update on INPACT’s current strategy and ongoing activities, highlighting our progress and future plans in the region.
- Introduction of New Member Firm: We were pleased to welcome Consultores Integrales, S.A. de C.V. from El Salvador to their first Regional Meeting. Jose Landaverde introduced the firm and shared their vision, marking their formal integration into the INPACT community.
- Open Discussion on Practice Management: A productive open discussion allowed members to exchange ideas and experiences on practice management, fostering collaboration and shared learning across the network.
- ESG Directive and Implications for Auditors: Walter Gomez delivered a compelling presentation on the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) directive and its implications for auditors. This was followed by an engaging discussion, as members explored the challenges and opportunities presented by these evolving standards.
- Quality Control Presentation: Jose Antonio Montoya led a session on quality control, which was followed by a lively open discussion. The session underscored the importance of maintaining the highest standards in our practices.
- Next Meeting Announcement: The meeting concluded with the exciting announcement of the next INPACT Latin America Members Meeting, which will be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from the 10th to the 14th of September 2025.
Cultural and Networking Activities
Beyond the meetings, the delegates had the opportunity to explore the cultural richness of Guatemala. On the 29th of August, the group visited the beautiful city of Antigua Guatemala, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. On the 30th of August, they toured Ciudad de Guatemala, including a visit to the historic Plaza de la Constitución. The day concluded with a delightful dinner in the upscale area of Cayalá, offering a perfect blend of networking and relaxation.
This meeting not only strengthened the bonds between our Latin American members but also reinforced our collective commitment to excellence and collaboration within the INPACT community.
