The firm is calling on students across the UK to consider a career in accountancy and attract hidden talent and ambitious millennials.

BDO has widened its entry criteria (now accepting 2:2 degrees, previously 2:1 and A-Levels and GCSEs from A* – C) and has taken its recruitment process online as an incentive. Competency based interviews have also been scrapped in favour of strength based assessments, with flexible and online video interviews.

Paul Eagland, managing partner, BDO, said: “The impact of new technology on our profession is huge. The market is evolving and the candidate experience is changing. Students can really stand out as advisers need to have a digital mind-set and think innovatively.”

The 350 new recruits will take BDO’s trainee total to 1,100 by the end of 2017. Applications for the 2017 intake are now open.
