Joining from a ‘Big Four’ operator, Gopal also takes up a position on Grant Thornton’s Strategic Leadership Team.

In her new role, she will oversee the Core Advisory division, directing client engagements across AI, corporate strategy, cybersecurity, operational transformation, regulatory compliance and risk management.

Gopal is experienced in advising large-scale enterprises, managing key client accounts and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex corporate issues, the company statement added.

Commenting on her appointment, Gopal said: “The challenges facing businesses increasingly cut across traditional areas of expertise. A technology decision will have implications for finance, risk, people and growth, while a transformation programme touches every part of an organisation.

“That creates a real opportunity for us to bring the breadth of Grant Thornton’s expertise together around the issues that matter most to clients.

“What attracted me to the firm was its ambition and the strength of its Core Advisory capability, and I am looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place to help our teams deliver even more for clients.”

Her appointment follows several other recent additions to the company’s Strategic Leadership Team, including Frederik Vinten as chief commercial officer, Abigail Fisher as chief people officer and David Gartside as chief digital officer.

Grant Thornton is targeting the addition of 160 new partners by the end of 2027, having completed more than 100 partner appointments during 2026.
